Wearing my clothes – Day #62

Day 62

Thankfully it was somewhat warm here today. This shirt was from Marshall’s. I keep going back and forth about it and am leaning towards giving it away. It’s tight across the shoulders and pulls every time I lean over. Anyway, pants are Levi from Ross, shoes – Ross? Earrings are from a student when I taught…Ahhh! =) And that’s my sweet dog. Poor Pele – our “first born” now getting lost in the mix of 2 kids. Days 31-60 are being posted for vote tomorrow. I promise! I have it put together, just need to add two more pics. Yay!

Wearing my clothes – Day #61

Day 61

Believe it or not, I’m just now starting to be DONE with this little project. I don’t want to think about getting dressed anymore. Well…at least not “creatively” for now. This shirt is OLD from TJMaxx, jeans are from Macy’s, shoes – Famous Footwear? Necklace – Premier Designs. We had funky weather today. Overcast, but surprisingly warm! Rain is in the future though. Hopefully I’ll have days 30-60 up tomorrow for a vote. =)

Easter Menu & Table Setting

IMG_2468 Of course I didn’t get pictures of MY food (we all consumed everything far too quickly, well, except the one you see above), but I’ll give you the pics from websites where I got the recipes. We gorged and it was AMAZING! Yeah, I felt a little blah by the end of the day, but I still think it was worth it. =)
Here’s the “skinny” (haha…far from it). Click on the pictures to take you to the recipes for each.
Menu
Peachy Iced Tea SangriaPeachy Iced Tea Sangria recipe
Creme Brulee French Toast
Broccoli & Italian Sausage
Egg Muffins
…and a super cute yellow cake with lemon filling!IMG_2484 with ideas nabbed from here…
and here…
Don’t compare the cakes too much! I almost didn’t even put the picture, but it’s okay that I’m a far cry from perfect! =)
The pictures aren’t great because I took them at 1am, but you’ll get the idea at least.
QUICK TIP: I’m learning how to “make things cute” from my mom. Get out anything and everything you think you might be able to use, then just try stuff! Look at it and see what you think. If you don’t like it, try a different combo. I didn’t take too long to do this again, because it was 1am, but it still came together nicely.
IMG_2496 I used a green Easter table runner (HomeGoods) I had, blue felt cutout placemats (Marshall’s), white napkins (World Market), pillow cases (Target) on the backs of the chairs…IMG_2487 …tied with blue ribbon. I used bird picture holders for name card holders (from Michael’s) and egg holders (gift from mom) for the two end seat name card holders because I only had 4 birds.
The white jug in the middle was from Joann’s and the silk flowers from Michael’s.
I’ll do a separate post of my family’s Easter baskets and egg hunt, but here was our family photo we captured…wonderful Easter celebration! What a special day and memory.IMG_2588 - landscape Hope you had a memorable Easter as well!
**FYI – I followed all the recipes to a tee, except the Creme Brulee French Toast. These were the changes I made: I kept the crust on, purchased pre-sliced bread, so stacked two slices to keep it thick enough, sprinkled cinnamon before popping it in the oven, added more grand marnier, took out one egg, and lastly, flipped the bread mid-bake. Seriously….heaven!

Wearing my clothes – Day #“60”

I blew right through the official 60th day (I had a garage sale which I will admit that I abhor!!!). So here’s the “60th day”, which shouldn’t really count either because I re-wore something. It’s Easter Sunday guys! And look at what an adorable family pic we got:IMG_2586 Ha! No…that’s not the beloved family picture, although I still love it. Here was one of the good ones:IMG_2588 - portrait I’m most definitely getting towards the end of my closet, which I’m excited about! ‘Cuz now I get to go through and re-wear some of my favorite outfits I discovered. =)

And here’s proof that I actually do “function” in my fancy clothes. Not ALWAYS, but quite often I do.IMG_2658I’m off to try and put together pictures of days 30-60 for you for a vote! =) Happy Easter.

Wearing my clothes – Day #59 (with my cutest accessory!)

Day 59

I know, cliche, right? But seriously…kids are the best! I needed a “throw this on” type of outfit today for relaxing and hanging at the park and I may or not be running out of “new” clothes to wear for cooler weather. Come on sun! Work with me here! =)

Pants – Levi via Ross

Shirt – Miley Cyrus via Walmart (another $1 nab!)

Shoes – Old Navy

Earrings – Yeah, yeah, you can’t see them. They’re bronze hoops in tear drop shape from JC Penney’s I think.

Anywho…are you ready to vote again? I’m hoping maybe I can get 70 this time, you think? Well, either way, it’s fun to get your opinions. Look for the pictures from day #30 - #60 tomorrow. I’ll try and figure out a better format where you can more easily see all the pictures.

You’ve Been Egged!

Similarly to our Resurrection rolls (posted here), I really do try and focus our fun activities, especially holiday related, around our beliefs. I love the concept behind the “You’ve Been Egged” we’ve all seen floating around the internet, but I particularly fell in love with it when my mom tied in the true meaning of Easter! She hosted an egg hunt where she handed out the following poem (which you can save as a free printable! Glee! Thanks mom. She mentioned to be sure to give credit where credit is due…she used lots of sources off pinterest to complete her version of the poem =)You've Been Egged Poem 5x7 I think you should be able to click on the picture above and “save as” image. I saved it as an 8 1/2” x 11” page. There are two copies, one for your neighbor’s door, and one for them to include when they “egg” someone. =) You’ll see when you click on it to save.
Here we are getting ready to go hide the eggs!IMG_2393On the reverse of the poem, we printed the cute free printable you see above found on eighteen25’s blog here. Adorable!IMG_2397Classic picture…he’s so excited to go hide eggs!IMG_2403I just couldn’t get enough of these two! So sweet! I thought of my photographer when I snapped this one. The sunspot. Love it!IMG_2407Here we are in our neighbor’s yard (well, one of them…we couldn’t resist doing two yards!). Cooper was worried he heard the door, so he’s peeking!IMG_2408Last one, I promise! Allie checking out what that egg in the tree is all about. Happy Easter! Go make a neighbor smile.
